Stainless process equipment with accessible maintenance points
Maintenance reference image. Access and wear-part replacement should be checked before the layout is fixed.

01

Know the wear parts

Pump stators/rotors, refiner screens, seals, blades, belts and heat-exchanger surfaces can wear or foul. Ask which parts are consumables and what the expected inspection interval is. Keep critical spares based on the operating plan.

02

Design access

Screens, seals and pump heads need room to be removed. A machine that fits the room but cannot be opened adds hours to every maintenance task. Check the layout with the guards and tools in mind.

03

Instrumentation and records

Flow, temperature, pressure and level instruments need calibration and access. Maintenance records should connect to the batch and cleaning records so performance changes are visible.

04

Plan shutdowns

Define the inspection interval, the spare-parts list, the lockout procedure and the restart checks. A planned shutdown is cheaper than an unplanned product loss.

Practical questions

What spares should I keep?

At minimum, the parts that stop production and have a long lead time: screens, seals, pump wear parts and critical instruments. The exact list follows the offered equipment and operating plan.

How often should the line be inspected?

The interval depends on the product, run hours and equipment. Start with the supplier's recommendations and adjust based on inspection findings and performance records.
